This particular piece was painted at the top of Airport Drive in Sedona, as the full moon began to rise over the horizon. My kids were with me-running, laughing, and watching airplanes take off and land through the soft desert evening. Howling at the moon even. There was magic in the air. A hush. A shimmer. The kind of moment that etches itself quietly into memory.
