Meet
theArtist
Hi! I’m Desiree Jane Currier, a first-generation Filipino American and self-taught artist with a big love for soft pastels and sentimental moments. I grew up on Long Island, New York, and made sunny Arizona my home in 2006.
I was raised by a secretly artistic mama and a handy, can-fix-anything dad, and from a young age, I learned how to create magic from whatever I could find-scraps around the house, treasures from the backyard, and a whole lot of imagination.
These days, I’m inspired by nostalgic feelings, the love of family and friends spread across the country, and the beauty in everyday life. My pastel landscapes are little love letters to memory and emotion-meant to feel like places your heart already knows.
Artist During Naptime
I live in sunny Phoenix, Arizona with my number one fan, my sweet husband, Dillon, and our two boys. They’re my whole heart and constant inspiration.
I pour my soul into every piece I create. For me, art isn’t just a passion-it’s a form of healing and meditation. It helped me through the tender, challenging season of postpartum depression and guided me into the beautiful (and wild) life of being a stay-at-home mom. I found myself as an artist after having my first son, discovering the magic of creating with my own two hands.
After my second son was born, I fell in love with soft pastels-thanks to the incredible mentorship of renowned artist Valerie McKeehan. That’s when everything clicked. And I haven’t looked back since.
My Team
My number one fan will always be my loving husband, Dillon. He not only supports and motivates me to reach for the stars in my art journey, but also sees beauty in every piece of art, even when I doubt it.
Dillon's unwavering belief in me led to him enrolling me in my very first soft pastel class, demonstrating his commitment to my growth and success. His remarkable positivity shines through in everything he does, making him a constant source of inspiration and encouragement in my life. I married a goldendoodle.
