The Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles was one of top 5 golf courses my husband suggested for me to paint. This course is known for its challenging and classic design. And I believe it!
There’s no shortcut around the work of golf. How do I manage my own imperfections? How do you manage yours while playing golf? I am getting comfortable with the uncomfortable. And this is what Riviera No. 1 did to me.
The original painting of Rivier No. 1 is painted on sanded paper. Frustration comes within the golf game, and in art. But I am trusting the process that it is part of the journey. With this sanded paper, and upon layer and layer, and skin getting burnt, I finally created a piece that I didn’t visualize initially. It was different. It was dreamy, it was better than my original draft. The grit created this dreamy painting. Creating more blended marks, less harsh marks, less hard lines. I try to force it the painting, to be something it is not. Midway, I learned to trust the process.
I AM NOT selling golf art. I am selling a feeling. The feeling that you are there!
