I actually watched a YouTube video of a golfer driving through this course. I was curious to see how it actually felt driving through the course and what feelings I would have. I paused on this one moment after driving through the trees and an A-Ha moment came to me.. and the golfer.
An iconic spot. Few landscapes are instantly recognizable. This soft pastel piece is more loose, with bigger marks. Kind of reminds me about my golf swing. I need to loosen up more.
The course is framed by windswept Monterey Cypress and towering Pine trees. Their silhouettes standing watch over the Pacific for generations.
I was drawn to less details of the course and more to the feeling of the place, the contrast between the strength of the coastline and the softness of the shifting light. You can really see the movement from the layers of color, and the atmosphere captures a moment suspended between land, sea and sky.
