Dear Daydreamer,
Does Taylor Swift mean anything to you?
Right now I’m listening to a “Taylor Swift Acoustic” playlist on Spotify. Her old songs feel like time machines, reminding me of teenhood and young adulthood spent with my best friend. Please don’t judge..I did have a fallout with Taylor for a few years... but when the Eras Tour came around, all those feelings returned. And suddenly, I was right back there. I realized how much I miss my best friend. The version of life where she lived ten minutes away and everything felt simple and sacred.
Isn’t it strange how music, smells, colors, scenery, even weather can tug on our hearts? They bring back feelings we thought we had gently tucked away. I miss her. I miss that time. I miss being near someone who just got me.
That longing, the beauty and ache of connection across distance, inspired the idea behind Notes to the Sky No. 1 and No. 2. Two frames that once held one painting. Split, yet still tied. Whether together or apart, they carry a piece of each other. Just like friendships that span time and space. How lovely it is to imagine someone else, somewhere, holding the other half of something that once lived whole.
The Other Half of Light No. 2 is an original soft pastel painting created to echo the quiet romance of a sky slipping into twilight. Blended hues of blue, lavender, and gold meet with moody clouds and a deep sense of calm.
This 3x3 inch piece is delicately framed in a modern brass tabletop frame from a local small business, ready to sit beside you, gift to someone you love, or place where you dream the most. Signed on the back and includes a stamped certificate of authenticity.
Part of my “Notes to the Sky” mini series—soft pastel works that feel like whispers from nature.
Uniquely pair No. 2 with No. 1.
