Evening Over Mountlake Terrace was inspired by one of those summer nights that lives in your bones forever. We jumped off the dock into water so cold it pinched like glass. Boats stirred the current and kids-still riding the wave of summer break-raced past us, leaping one after another with shrieks and splashes.
As a desert baby, I was freezing….but I’d never felt more alive.
When the warmth of the Pacific touched my skin, the world lit up. Hues of lavender, pink, peach, and plum danced across the lake, painting the sky and reflecting on our faces. It was wild. Youthful. Free. That sunset didn’t just inspire me…it begged to be remembered in pastel. If you only I can show the texture and the colors in natural light. Photos do it justice!
